A Valentine’s Day to Please Everyone

Let me start by saying that I do not like Valentine’s Day. I have tried to like it, believe me, but in the end I always regret it. Then, I realized I was doing it wrong.

I was always exhausted by the crowded restaurants with overly stressed staff and a movie theatre with too many people that can’t put down their phones for a mere 2 hours. UGH! I am an introvert and I was trying to do what everyone else was doing, instead of what was right for me and my significant other, so here are things for you and your partner to do, that can be enjoyable for everyone.

Option 1:

Celebrate V-day on a day other than the 14th. Sundays and Mondays are the least busy for restaurants for dinner, or take a morning off to go out to breakfast together. You may want to consider not going out at all. It’s a crazy world out there with a bunch of crazy love-struck people looking to impress each other. I feel claustrophobic just thinking about it.

Option 2:

Try a night in with a home cooked meal, delivery, or take-out. Then you can Netflix and chill without having to have stepped out into the world. Check out some of these great homemade easy recipes to cook together or cook to impress.

OR go old school with some dino nuggets, tater tots, and mac and cheese.

Option 3:

If you are the extroverted kind of introverts, how about a double date at your house (dinner only. Netflix and chill if that’s what you’re into). You could also have a non-valentine’s day get together. Invite some friends over for an excuse to have a potluck and beers.

Introvert + Extrovert

Extroverts, be kind to your introvert love on Valentine’s Day and don’t drag them into the throngs of Valentine’s Day fanatics without warning.

Option 1:

Let the introvert pick. Introverts, see options above for introvert + introvert.

Option 2:

Visit some place familiar and less crowded, such as a local pub that you both fancy or a hole in the wall restaurant in town (those are the best kind, but may also be busy). Our favorite is Niche Wine Lounge and My Way for all my wine, beer, bourbon, and food needs.

Option 3:

Plan ahead and get a reservation at a place that takes reservations days (or even months) in advance. This helps ensure that you’re not going to be mobbed by tons of people all trying to cram a dinner into the same evening. Angus Barn is an amazing (but pricey) way to treat your loved one to red meat.

Extrovert + Extrovert

What are you waiting for? You are meant to be out in the world together, so you do you! Try something new and exciting. Go skydiving together, hit that new club you’ve been dying to try, or cheer on a local sports team. The sky’s the limit for you crazy kids.

Pro Tip: No matter what you choose, be safe, have fun, and always have sex BEFORE you embark on your Valentine’s Day adventures. You’ll thank me later.

  1. Long time reader, first time commenter — so, thought I’d drop a comment..

    — and at the same time ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t mind me
asking what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
    :P)

I just launched my small businesses site –also built in wordpress like yours–
but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching
for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!

    1. Hey Justin!
Thanks so much for reading! We are using the “Wisdom Blog” Theme on WordPress and you are more than welcome to use it too! I like your site a lot! It’s very user-friendly and the color scheme is very pleasing to my eyes. If I had to change anything, I would make the descriptions below the products more quickly readable, if that makes sense! Hope you stay safe too!

  2. Hi there, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just curious if you get a lot of spam remarks? If so how do you prevent it, any plugin or anything you can recommend? I get so much lately it’s driving me crazy so any help is very much appreciated.|

    1. Hello!
Thanks so much for your comment! We do get spam from time to time, but have not found a good plug-in yet to prevent it. For now, we just “disapprove” any comments that don’t seem to be legitimate!
Good luck and let us know if you find anything helpful!
